The service is free for students with their school ID, all three colleges chipped in funding for the route in order to wave that fee for students. The public is also welcome to take the Nightrider too, but they have to pay.
The new line will run on Friday and Saturday evening from 6 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., offering a safe, convenient route for students.
"It gets our students into the Dubuque community, and to see what the community has to offer. It also is an important aspect for us with sustainability, and using public transportation rather than individual cars," said Arthur Sunleaf, Vice President of Student Development Loras College.
Nightrider was also funded through the Iowa Clean Air Attainment Grant, provided by Iowa's Department of Transportation.
