Haryana to start survey of acquired land - Real Estate India

Chandigarh:?With most of the farmers accepting land compensation regarding Gorakhpur nuclear power plant, the Haryana government has decided to move to the next step in the project by launching a survey of the houses, trees, crop and tubewells located on the land acquired for setting up the plant. The survey will commence on September 10 and will be completed within 15 days.

A total of 1,503 acres of land has been earmarked in three villages including Gorakhpur, Badopal and Kajalheri, in Fatehabad district for setting up the nuclear plant. According to the state government, of the 689 farmers whose land is under acquisition, 683 farmers have already accepted compensation.

?The six farmers, yet to accept the compensation amount own around 135 acres of land which is involved in some internal-family disputes. As soon as the ownership title of the land is clear, the compensation will be paid. As majority of the farmers have already accepted the compensation, we are moving to the next step,? said Chief Parliamentary Secretary Prahlad Singh Gilakhera, attached to the Haryana Industries Minister.

While presiding over a meeting with senior officers of Fatehabad district on Monday, Fatehabad Deputy Commissioner M L Kaushik said: ?To conduct this survey, teams of officers have been constituted, the teams will gather all information regarding dhanies, ?kaccha houses?, tubewells and taps, underground water pipelines, trees, productive plants and gardens so that timely compensation can be provided to the farmers,? Kaushik said.

During his interaction with members of panchayat and residents of Gorakhpur village, Kaushik assured that Gorakhpur would not only be made ?Adarsh Gram? (model village), but would also be developed as a modern village equipped with modern facilities.
